Apple Tree Craft-3 Ways

These were super easy to prepare.  My toddler made all 3 and then asked for another!  They were so much fun.  Both the stickers and the glue (squeezing can be tricky) is good for toddler fine motor development.

You will need:
  • green construction paper (one piece made all 3 trees for us, but your mileage will vary based on the size circle you use)
  • a circle to trace (I used the wide part of a pencil cup)
  • Popsicle sticks
  • stickers (I used the plain circle stickers used for garage sales)
  • wooden beads
  • pom poms
  • a glue stick
  • school glue
  • scissors

I did this part for Little M.  A child who can trace and cut could do it herself.  Trace and cut out 2 green circles for each tree.  Glue them together (I just used glue stick) with a Popsicle stick in between (for the tree trunk).  Allow your trees to dry.

Lay out the materials for each tree (one at a time) for your child.  Let them add the "apples" to their trees.  Your child can make 3 trees: a sticker tree, a pom pom tree, and a bead tree. Alternately, you could present them with all of the materials at once and allow them to make a tree out of all of the materials at once.

Allow the finished trees to dry.  You can stick them in floral foam to display them or use them as stick puppets in imaginative play.
